Still, would be a shame if snooker was further marginalised, like bowls for instance. A little niggle; why does everyone insist on refering to the '85 final like it's the only one that took place? Yes, it was perhaps the pinnacle, certainly in viewer figures, but snooker has enjoyed many good years since. Just a couple of comments on the Times' list. There was a 'David Beckham of snooker' in the shape of Paul Hunter, RIP, so perhaps they should have mentioned that. Agreed though, it needs a new one, quick. Also. there is a female referee who takes charge of 'high-profile' matches - Michaela Tabb - though she hasn't appeared in a mini-skirt, at least not to my knowledge. I welcome all the Times' suggestions though. Snooker desperately needs some razzmatazz if it ever hopes to compete with the noise. It's core viewers are (literally) dying out.
